final

hello my names Ralph me and my friends from school are flying ion a plane. I have had some fun here but mostly bad things have happened. a lot has happened during this adventure on the beach. some of my friends have died and some crazy things have happened.

jack is a mean person who is mean to some people for no reason and he wants to be chief but people would rather chose me. Jack and I do not like each other because we are competing against each other to be chief even though I am already chief I don't think he understands that the people voted for me not him, but he keeps trying.

my friend piggy died. I was very sad when he died because he was one of my close friends and he was a very nice person. although not everyone liked piggy because he let the fire out, I still like him because everyone makes mistakes.

Simon also died. he was trying to tell us that the beast that the littleuns saw was not really a beast. we all thought he was the beast so we killed him because we thought he was lying and we thought he was the beast.

Jacks tribe attacked us in the middle of the night and they beat us up, we didn't see it coming so we were not prepared to fight back. we finally got rescued and I was so happy to finally get off the island and go to see my family.

Chapter 9

Simon wakes up and finds the everything dark and the air humid he thinks there is a storm coming. His nose is bleeding, and he starts walking twards the mountain. He hikes up the hill and sees the dead pilot with his  parachute flapping in the wind.

Simon realizes that the boys have mistaken this this man in a tree for the deadly beast that has turned everything into chaos. When Simon sees the corpse of the parachutist he starts to vomit from the sent and from what he has seen. When he is done he begins untangling the parachute now the parachute free from the rocks.
He cant wait to show and tell the boys that they have mistaken the man in the tree for a deadly beast. Everyone can calm down now and stop worrying about the deadly beast because the deadly beast is not even a beast. Ralph is mad because jack is getting the boys in his side of the argument but he cant wait until he gets back to the beach to tell the boys.

chapter 12

Ralph hides in the jungle and thinks about everything that has been going on. he thinks about the death of piggy and Simon. Ralph was angry and mad he comes across the lord of the flies and pushes it to the ground.

later that night Ralph wakes up and sneaks down to the camp and sees Eric guarding it. the twins give him food but he does not want it. they told Ralph and said that jack and his tribe is planning to attack them again the next day.

Ralph looks up and sees a officer standing right over him, he is scared at first. the officer tells them that they are here to rescue him, he said they saw a huge fire on the beach. they are happy that they are finally being rescued.

chapter 7

after a long day the boys stopped to eat as they are traveling to the mountain. Ralph is looking at the ocean and he feels like with the ocean is blocking the boys from being escaped. Simon comes up to him trying to make him happier by telling him that they will make him home safely.

Jack says they should hunt the pig while its day outside and they should also look for the beastie as well. Jack throws his spear at the boar and it doesn't even stick in. Jack is happy but the other boys are not.

Ralph and Jack are still not friends they are still fighting for power. it is like a competition for who the boys think is a better leader and who has more power. it is also like a competition for courage and who can do the most for the boys

chapter 6

At night ralph and jack carry the littleuns back to the huts. when the littleuns are sleeping there are planes flying above them. people in parachutes fly down their parachutes flap in the wind.

when Sam and Eric wake up the go back to keep the fire going. Sam and Eric see the dead man in the parachute and go tell everyone that they see a beats, so they all go looking for what they saw. Ralph says that Jack can be the leader of the search party.

when the boys are climbing the hill Jack and Ralph are becoming friends again. a lot of the other boys start playing and forget what they are here for. Ralph yells at them and tells them that they need to stop playing and help him find the beast

chapter 5

Ralph was walking on the beach. Ralph is mad with his hair because of how long it is and it always falls in front of his eyes and gets in his face so he cant see. He called a meeting he blows the conch shell, and the boys get together on the beach.

at the meeting Ralph is mad. he tells the boys that they don't help and he is doing all the work while everyone else is playing.  They have not done anything they were supposed to do, they refuse to work and help him build shelters, they don't get any water, and they don't keep the fire.

One of littleuns claims that they have seen the beastie before. he says that it might go to the ocean at night. Jack said that if there is really a beastie out there than him and the hunters will hunt it and kill it.

symbol

Conch shell- the conch shell represents authority. Whenever someone has the shell then can talk and nobody can interrupt them. You can blow into the shell to call a meeting or get people’s attention. Ralph uses the shell the most.

The fire- the fire was to try and signal someone. They started a fire with piggy’s specs. Piggy only had one spec because he got punched in the stomach. They mostly used the fire to try to signal a plane but they also used the fire to keep warm. They had to tend the fire overnight but they did not do a good job of doing that because the fire went out.

The huts- the huts symbolize home. Only two of the boys built the huts while the other boys were hunting and some of the irresponsible boys were building sand castles and were swimming in the water. They needed shelter so they had to build the huts, that’s where the boys stayed at night and its where they slept.

Chapter 4

the boys are settling into the island. The smaller boys are now known as the "littleuns," including Percival, the smallest boy on the island, who stayed in a small shelter for two days. The littleuns spend most of the day searching for fruit to eat, and playing. They were not crying for their mothers as often than expected, and they spend time with the older boys only during Ralph's assemblies. The littleuns keep themselves busy by building sand castles. They littleuns are still scared of the “beastie”. They think it will hunt them when they sleep.

piggy is the only boy whose hair does not and has not ever grown and whose clothes have been the same in the whole entire book. He is still thinking of when he did not get everyone’s names he is sad about that. Piggy is not the smartest boy in the group but he does have a big heart.

Jack insisted that everyone eat the pig is a way of showing he can be a great leader. He can feed the boys. He has kept his promise and is giving the boys something they all want and crave because they are very hungry. He is a strong and powerful leader. This concerns Ralph, who talks about a fire and rescue but who has really done nothing. Ralph is starting to get concerned and is beginning to get nervous because he wants to be leader and does not want Jack to take his place.

chapter 3

Chapter 3

It's weeks later. In the jungle, Jack follows a pig and throws his spear at it. He did try but he misses. Jack goes back to the beach he was frustrated and angry.

On the beach Ralph and Simon are building huts for shelter. Ralph is mad because only him and Simon are working on the huts and the huts are falling apart. He complains to Jack that everyone else is off playing or hunting.

Ralph's complaint gets Jack mad. Ralph points out that all the hunters except Jack came back hours ago, and are swimming and playing which is not fair because they spent all the time working. Jack tries to explain his obsession with catching and killing the beastie.

beastie

Beastie

Hello my name is jack. The three littleuns play in the sand Maurice and Rodger, come out from the forest. Maurice off for a swim, but Roger doesn’t he stays behind. When one of the littleuns, Henry, wanders off, Roger follows him. Henry plays near the edge of the ocean, he is thinking and looking at all little animals living there.

Roger watches Henry from a far away, and finds some nuts blown from a tree. After he looks at them Roger throws the nuts and then some little rocks and stones at Henry, but he purposely aims to miss by a little bit so he doesn’t hit him.

Jack steps back from the forest and calls for Roger, telling him to follow jack. In the jungle, Jack paints his own face for hunting camouflage so he can blend in with the grass and the leaves. The mask makes him feel like he is blending in. Jack starts dancing. He gets Roger, and he gets some others boys to come hunt with him.

chapter 2

 chapter 2

jack is my favorite character. He fights for what he wants. Jack reminds Ralph of the beastie they found trapped in the jungle, and Ralph agrees that they will need hunters to kill animals for meat. Ralph says that, at meetings, the conch shell will be used to determine who has the right to speak. Whoever holds the conch shell will speak, and the others will listen silently until they receive the shell in their turn. Jack agrees with this idea.

Piggy talks about how that no one knows they have crashed on the island and that they could be stuck there for a long time. The prospect of being stranded for a long time is too scary for many of the boys, and the entire group becomes silent and scared. One of the little boys, a small boy with a red colored mark on his face, claims that he saw a snakelike “beastie” or monster the night before. Though they are frightened, the older boys try to tell the little boys that there is no monster. The older boys say that what the little boy saw was just a nightmare.

Jack is sometimes mean to the other boys, but he stands up for what he believes in that is why I like jack. Jack is my favorite character in the book, jack is a leader even though ralph is chief. Jack makes fun of people sometimes and I don’t know why he does.

conch shell

The conch shell is important so people don’t all talk out at once. Ralph uses it the most. The conch shell is used when someone is talking and they have to say something important. If someone has the conch shell in their hand and they are talking then nobody else can talk. If everyone is being loud then blow in it to get everyone's attention

D-Day Journal

William Golding was affected by being a part of D-Day because it was very traumatizing and it was probably really hard to have to fight in world war 2.  He was questioning it because not all man kind is good. he did not know weather to go into war or not.

Maybe he was nervous about the war and maybe he
was wondering if going into war was worth it.Man is born evil and we have to learn how to become good but we all need someone to teach us and then we can become good.
